This position reports to

Head of Project Execution, Packaging

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the Motion System Drives.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCoordinates engineering discipline across several projects. Provides engineering support for engineered-to-order solutions during the bid phase, execution, testing, installation and commissioning. Designs and conducts experiments, analyzes and interprets data. Prepares complete project documents. Serves as a specialist in drives application and technology. Scope incudes various VSI and LCI Medium Voltage Drives, converter transformers, induction and synchronous motors, excitation systems, switchgear, cooling solutions, UPS, PLCs, e-house installations, cables & bus ducts.•\tSupports Project and Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.). Provides cost effective quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract. Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.•\tInteracts with customers, officials, contractors and others. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.•\tMaintains network of engineering professionals and shares engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines. Qualifications for the role

BS/MS Electrical Engineering Degree required.8+ years of professional experience in an engineering role required.Experience in drives or power electronics applications, medium voltage preferred.Experience with CAD software, such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical.Familiarity with engineering analysis tools like MATLAB, NEPLAN.Experience in managing multiple projects of scope and scale simultaneously.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
