We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer in our Houston TX office
This position will be responsible for leading assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering, design, and construction resources
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop cost estimates, funding request documents, and schedule for projects
Organize and lead meetings with project stakeholders
Ensure all projects meet the operability needs of the customer
Ensure all projects receive adequate hazard and process safety reviews
Lead development of bid packages and contractor selections
Provide field supervision / support during project execution
Develop safety plan and manage project safety in the field (further details in “Safety Responsibilities” section below)
Manage budget and schedule; provide ongoing forecasts to management
Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on project process and tools
Support Management of Change process- provide change description and justification, supporting documentation and satisfy pre/post implementation task lists
Gain an understanding of the operating plant environment, process and equipment
Ensure work is executed in compliance with company quality control and safety standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of project management experience in industrial gas, petrochemical or similar industry
Technical degree (Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Piping and I&E design management experience
Strong leadership abilities, organization skills and planning skills
Self-motivated and willingness to learn
High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements
Organizational credibility - able to influence business area, engineering and manufacturing managers in decision making process
Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), SAP and Primavera P6.
Travel will be required as much as 30% within the continental United States
Obtain TWIC card and pass refinery background checks
