Summary\:

Typically manages multiple small projects, a single medium project or a portion of a large or mega project within the organization and/or for customers, with daily operational responsibilities.  Works with multi-discipline project team members to develop technical/functional solutions to strategic project objectives.  Solutions are derived from available resources provided internally and/or externally, including policies and procedures.  May serve as a proposal manager for small to medium projects.

Purpose\:

Responsible for coordination of project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Bridges the technical gap between the Project Manager and Engineers. Often functions as assistant project manager with an engineering background. Ascertains that engineering work is done according to plan by helping with design interpretation. Reviews bill of materials/project schedules/forecasts for accuracy.  This role would apply to those with an engineering background.

Responsibilities\:

Decision Making

Makes independent decisions and sets priorities related to complex situations based on established guidelines, taking into account the cost and schedule impact to the project.

Supervision Received

Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with project, policy and for coordination of other Worley departments.

Supervision Authority

Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on their projects.  Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.  May have direct reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people.

Leadership

Defines and selects team required to deliver scope of work. Effectively leads project team comprised of multi‐discipline/ multi‐location members. Sets clear objectives for the project team including scope, schedule, productivity and budget targets. Oversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps. Implements communication tools and process to ensure all team members are informed about project status and key performance indicators. Demonstrates the ability to build support for ideas, presenting alternatives and recommendations persuasively.

Financial Acumen

Applies in‐depth knowledge of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project. Strong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards. Project design deliverables and design quantities are tracked and analyzed. Understands project cost buildup including gross margin. Tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends. Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team.

Execution Planning & Performance

Translates contract requirements for project scope into Worley scope of services and deliverables. Ensures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing the project tasks. Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress. Develops action plans to address project tasks and issues. Good understanding of Project Control Reports and identified problem areas. Experienced in successful multi-office workshare execution. Promotes Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives for project.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

Identifies and understands the customer’s key drivers (KPIs). Manages customer representatives (established relationship) and other significant stakeholders. Manages and nurtures customer and stakeholder relationship based on established expectations and communication protocols. Nurtures relationships with external vendors and suppliers, communicating key project drivers Develops a relationship of trust and respect with ability to discuss project progress, challenges and issues in a transparent manner.

Risk & Opportunity Management

Identifies potential risks or new risks as the project progresses and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans. Follows Worley risk management procedures. Keeps detailed project risk register that stays current and is tracked & communicated on a regular basis (at least monthly). Utilizes Risk Register items as the basis for any project contingency budget. *

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements\: 

Advanced understanding Worley Management and Knowledge Systems, processes and tools.  Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.  Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies. Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio. Demonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership to project team. Satisfies all requirements of project safety compliance including Safety by Design, Constructability and Maintainability. Has participated in Constructability, Operability and Maintainability Workshops. Ensures Worley methodologies, processes, tools and systems are used throughout the project and compliance requirements are met/satisfied. Applies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan. Ensures design team is aware and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations. Demonstrates attention to detail. Demonstrated understanding of EPC project delivery workflow and coordination. Basic exposure and understanding of procurement/subcontracting and on-site construction support. Effectively communicates and take a leadership role in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to staff and management. Clearly communicates project requirements, deliverables and expectations with the project team. As technical customer interface, pro-actively addresses technical coordination issues. Creates an environment for open communication and collaboration. Keeps all stakeholders informed of project status. Resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.

Additional Information\:

This role is located in California Salary Range $136,741-$201,090 Benefits\: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training\:

Required\:

University degree or equivalent in engineering.

Preferred\:

At least 12 years in petrochemical and refining with project design, execution, construction. On-site and/or in-refinery experience. Oil and Gas experience. Saudi Aramco experience. Carbon Capture experience.
