Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Salary/Grade: £44,100 - £55,123 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Larne (hybrid – 3 days a week in office)

The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Caterpillar (N.I.) situated at Larne. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within the Caterpillar Electric Power project team.
This role provides a great opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to manage multiple complex Electric Power projects from conception through to completion. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work alongside project teams across engineering, supply chain, procurement and commissioning to ensure projects are completed in time and to a high standard.
What you will do:
Provide leadership to the project team(s) executing all the project activities related to the fiscal reporting, engineering, procurement, purchasing, logistics, quality, EHSS, site technical assistance and commissioning of LEP Solutions projects.
Understand the project technical and commercial requirements, local conditions, statutory requirements.
Develop project schedule, project costing and manage document control
Collaborate with our dealers in managing Customer change orders, facilitating the project team in making sound technical and commercial assessments and decisions.
Develop the risk identification and risk mitigation strategies, jointly working with team members and dealers on projects.
Assist the dealer project team in the development and execution of the project execution strategy, tactics and transactional activities.
Practice and manage regular communications and reporting with team members, dealers, customers and management.
Leverage Functional Area Leaders and team members alike to solve business problems to ensure project objectives and requirements are met. Escalate issues to management when those problems can't be solved within the project teams.
Support the factory Quality Engineer and Dealer site team in closing project site ‘punch list’ items
Institutionalise process excellence and lessons learned disciplines by conducting ‘lessons learned’ meeting with all Functional Area Leaders and responsible dealer after system turnover to end user.
What you have:

The ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control construction and/or industrial projects, ensuring efficient utilisation of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties.
Managing Multiple Priorities - Level Working Knowledge:
The ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritising and time allocation.
Recognises changing demands and priorities; validates changes with management.
Experience with managing at least 2-3 concurrent projects without reducing productivity.
Requirements Analysis - Level Working Knowledge:
Communicates with customers and users to elicit and gather client requirements.
Participates in the preparation of detailed documentation and requirements.
Flexibility and Adaptability - Level Working Knowledge:
The ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
Identifies and considers alternative approaches to situations or problems
Adjusts to new or changing assignments, processes, and people.
Relationship Management - Level Working Knowledge:
The ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Works with clients to address critical issues and resolve major problems.

Additional information:
There is some travel maybe required up to 20% of the time.
