SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Qualifications: B.Sc. Degree in Engineering from a recognized university; advanced degrees and membership in professional engineering/project management institutions are advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution within the oil and gas sector. Proven track record managing and executing brownfield projects in resource/petrochemical industries. Expertise in pipeline and downstream fuel distribution projects; experience with CNG stations is a plus. Experience with dense-phase CO2 pipelines, process equipment, and mature field development, including Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection schemes, is advantageous. Extensive experience in brownfield petrochemical refinery projects. Experience as an independent client/owner representative preferably with an IOC (International Oil Company). Skilled in engineering coordination across feasibility, concept optimization studies, FEED, and EPIC phases. Key Competencies: Proficiency in managing all aspects of project lifecycles: Engineering design, feasibility studies, and construction activities. Operational readiness, commissioning, and start-up processes. Project risk management, performance communication, budgeting, and cost control. Change management (MOC), contract administration, and claims resolution. Procurement of long-lead items and contractor/vendor management. Strong expertise in integrating HSE considerations into projects. Excellent communication, team leadership, and presentation skills. Your Responsibilities – not limited to the below: Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver exceptional project management services for onshore oil and gas projects. Develop and implement project plans, including execution strategies, risk management, HSE assurance, quality control, and stakeholder communication. Drive efficient designs by resolving technical and engineering challenges while meeting project timelines and budgets. Oversee project activities like cost control, budgeting, contract administration, progress reporting, and risk mitigation. Manage tendering processes, evaluate submissions, and recommend awards to relevant committees. Interface closely with stakeholders, including government and statutory authorities, joint ventures, and end-users. Participate in resolving contractor claims and variations while ensuring compliance with company policies. Mentor and develop Qatari engineers, fostering their growth and professional development.
