RESPONSIBILITIES
Commission electrical and mechanical distribution equipment in a variety of environments, including:Mission critical facilities (e.g. data centers)Central boiler and chiller plantsSmall power generation and cogeneration stations (up to 100 MW)Identify and assemble required documentation, drawings, and data from clients, vendors, and contractors.Develop building-specific commissioning plans.Schedule and lead commissioning meetings including proper documentation. Develop and/or review factory witness test procedures for major equipment.Attend factory witness tests and provide detailed report identifying deficiencies.Submit progress reports and commissioning meeting notes to the project and facility manager.Perform physical testing of electrical/mechanical equipment and record using test instrumentation. Respond to customer inquiries in a manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5-15 years of experience in preferably electrical/mechanical/controls engineering, energy services, plant operations, or related field;OR
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as service technician, controls installer, commissioning agent, or construction manager with experience with building controls, test and balance, design, construction and/or maintenance of building systems.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledgeable with common electrical, mechanical, and controls-related building equipment, including:Uninterruptible power supplies.Low and medium-voltage electrical switchgear.Automatic transfer switches.Static transfer switches.Power distribution units.Backup generators.Gas turbines.Reciprocating engines.Steam turbines.Selective catalytic reduction systems.Chillers (electric, absorption, and steam-driven mechanical).Boilers (steam and hot water).Heat recovery steam generators.Pumps.Air handling units.Computer room air conditioning units.Computer room air handlers.Cooling towers.Building management systems.Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, energetic, problem solver.Excellent communication and relationship skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to travel and work independently.Experience in mission critical facility commissioning essential.Building management and distributed control system experience a plus.
