Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: hybridThis role is contributing to the Process Automation – Ring Motors plant’s Engineering Department in Spain. Main stakeholders are Service and Manufacturing Plant.You will be mainly accountable for:• Working with Hydro customers to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements• Developing basic and detailed designs for the portfolio of Hydro-Generator Services projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost• Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured/staged, tested, installed and commissioned• Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices and lessons learned from past projects• Works closely with project manager right from the receipt of contract/order till closure to meet the technical requirements of the contract• Visiting Hydro clients to ensure the correct functioning of the delivered solutionsYou will join a dynamic and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

Degree in Industrial Engineering More than 15 years of experience in the design of salient pole synchronous generators for hydroelectric power plants Detailed knowledge of basic and detailed electromagnetic/mechanical designs of salient pole synchronous machines More than five years of experience in the development of tooling and managing quality for generator manufacturing High proficiency in spoken and written English
