As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be the design authority for engineering projects in Automation & Electrification Service, Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) in Houston, Texas, making technical recommendations and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service. You will be the technical lead and/or design authority for Process Automation engineering projects in Renewable, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power Generation, Water treatment industries both in US (United States) and global projects. In this role, you will ensure successful Distributed Control System delivery of multiple projects on time, within budget, and in line with specifications and with quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities

Working closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, and utilizing feedback to drive delivery of improvements for medium to large complex projectsResolving technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in US and abroadAssisting Project Managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards, as well as technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals Cost effectively executing Distributed Control System project deliverables on time in accordance with specifications, standards and safety requirements Design, Test and Commission Automation Enclosures, Control Logic and Human Machine Interfaces with ABB or 3rd party Control SystemCreating and delivering work plans, budgets, and risk assessments Developing your management skills by working with entry level employees Developing, selecting and applying standard techniques, procedures and tools, reporting inefficiencies and identifying improvement opportunitiesAbility and willingness to travel approximately up to 25 percent of the time

Your background

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or other engineering degree and minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, working as an Engineer with Distributed Control SystemsSound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and toolsA strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelinesA high level of self motivation, curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologiesA collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skillsCandidates must be able to read, write and speak English fluentlyPosition will be based in Houston, TX Reimbursement for relocation is not availableCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
