Engineering Manager 1

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, be the technical lead and/or designauthority for Process Automation engineering projects in Renewable, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power Generation, Water treatment industries both in USand global projects, making technical recommendations and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service. You will be responsible to ensure successful Distributed Control System delivery of multiple projects on time, within budget, and in line with specifications and with quality and safety guidelines.The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-OnsiteReimbursement for relocation is not available.This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division in Houston, TX.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tWorking closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, and utilizing feedback to drive delivery of improvements for medium to largecomplex projects•\tResolving technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in US and abroad•\tAssisting Project Managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards, as well as technical details, costs, and deliverables for sales proposals •\tCost-effectively executing Distributed Control System project deliverables on time in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements •\tDesign, Test and Commission Automation Enclosures, Control Logic and Human Machine Interfaces with ABB or 3rd party Control System•\tCreating and delivering work plans, budgets, and risk assessments •\tDeveloping your management skills by working with entry-level employees •\tDeveloping, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures and tools, reporting inefficiencies and identifying improvement opportunities

Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar engineering degree\t8+ years of relevant experience working as an Engineer with Distributed Control Systems and/or PLC control systems and programming\tSound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools\tStrong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines\tStrong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with diverse discipline project teams\tHigh level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies\tCollaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills\tUp to 25% domestic travel, international may be required but rare\tWe are unable to sponsor an employment visa at this time for this role. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
