The delivery of new Gorilla® glass compositions, products, and processes from R&D into manufacturing operations. Project management role to drive improvements in Gorilla division.

 

Lead and manage project teams responsible to new Gorilla® Glass process technologies, capacity expansions, and rebuilds in support of overall business objectives.  Position requires demonstrated skills in manufacturing engineering, project management and team leadership, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to work across Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing organizations. Engage Core Technology & Development and Engineering resources as needed to drive improvements required in continuous unit Melting, Forming, BOD and Finishing process areas. Assist Gorilla Melting, Forming, & BOD engineers by organizing projects that support critical business objectives. Coaching of engineers in project management a plus. Project leadership and management of complex, medium/large capital project in support of overall business objectives.   Key Responsibilities Project leadership responsibility for assigned projects from AR development through successful execution and transfer to manufacturing Leadership of large, highly matrixed multi-national project teams Satisfaction of key project objectives (safety, quality / performance, schedule, spending) Define and successfully execute project plans that support overall business objectives Development and leadership of effective project teams.  Establish roles, responsibilities and competencies required for the project.  Builds an effective project team utilizing internal and external personnel resources with the ability to operate and supervise matrixed organizations.  Establish receivership requirements for project.  Effectively implements all phases of project management methodologies including initiation, planning, implementation and control, and close-out. Conduct project meetings and document key issues, action items and decisions. Communicates and provides guidance to project team members based on organizational goals and company policy Provide periodic project updates to customer and management Communicates project goals, objectives, key status information and overall impact of the project effectively with project team members. Represent Gorilla® Division Engineering in glass and platform development meetings and activities Assist in run planning and leadership of process technology development activities for installations of platforms

 

We anticipate approximately 25%-30% for this role (mix of domestic and international)

Required Education/ Experience Minimum of a BS Engineering degree or equivalent experience.                                7-10 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager with proven track record successfully delivering complex engineering projects involving multiple technologies, new product / process transfer to high volume manufacturing, and significant financial or strategic impact to the business.   Able to develop funding requests and projects (scope, budget, schedule) for assigned activities Able to build, mobilize, and lead teams to successfully deliver project objectives (safety, scope, schedule, cost) Able to work across Commercial, Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing functions as required to deliver project objectives Effectively communicate project status, issues, risks, and results Experienced at influencing technical decisions Work effectively in a matrix team environment Desired Skills Project Management Professional or equivalent certification Knowledge of glass melting / forming / finishing, thermal, mechanical, fluid flow Experience developing capital investment request using structured stage gate process Skilled at conducting and analyzing process experiments using; MEE, Process Excellence, DOE, DMAIC, etc. Prior experience in glass melting, forming, BOD, finishing, process operations

The range for this position is  $94,958.00   -  $130,568.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
