Your role
Join our team as a Senior Project Manager (Construction), to deliver complex capital projects for our British Columbia Business Unit.
Based in Vancouver and/or surrounding area, you will use your on-site construction management experience to deliver a complex redevelopment project within an industrial facility. You’ve become known as a trusted advisor and have the ability to build strong, lasting relationships with Facility Operations and Maintenance Teams and earn the trust of senior leaders and decision makers.
This role requires full-time on-site presence at the construction site in the Greater Vancouver Area and will require a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities Attend contractor fabrication shops for inspections and factory acceptance testingReview contractor submittals and provide input on improvementsProvide input on construction methodologies and input on constructability challengesCoordinate/track RFIs and Change RequestsOrganize meetings, communications and reportingAct as a conduit of communication between operations staff, maintenance and project delivery teamsAttend site safety orientations and construction meetings and log contractor safety issuesReview work for contract conformance and monitor progress against scheduleCoordinate QA/QC inspectionsSubmit invoices from contractors providing a breakdown of budget tasks with approved budget, invoiced to date, current invoice amountThis role requires full-time on-site presence at the construction site in the Greater Vancouver Area. There may be long hours, and some weekend work required.Qualifications Proactive and problem-solving attitudePrevious involvement in civil and marine construction projectsUnderstanding of construction processes, procurement best practices and contracts Ability to read/understand construction/engineering drawings and specsGood verbal/written communication skills 10 years experience as construction manager or site supervisor an assetBe a leader and a team player with clients, colleagues, and other project partners. The ability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends on site will be required to meet schedule (Overtime)Some travel may be required
