What You Will Be Doing

SD&I Purchasing (Services, Digital & Investments) is a global organization within GTP (Group Trucks Purchasing) representing a yearly purchased spend of 35 BSEK (approximately 3.3 BUSD). The team is responsible for Investments, IT, Professional Service & Travel, Product & Operation Services, and more.

As a Senior Project Manager, Purchasing you will be accountable to lead purchasing activities and represent indirect Purchasing in assigned product, services, and industrial projects. You will also be the interface with the Purchasing line organization and work closely together to secure purchasing interest. You will be a key player in the project teams, and you will act and deliver in a large network requesting strong cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders around the different business areas.

This position will be based out of Greensboro, NC and will report to the Head of Services, Digital & Investments Purchasing North America.

Responsibilities will include:
 

Membership in the GTP SD&I North America Leadership team, and actively contribute to the development of the department Drive department activities and give input to department purchasing business plan Serve as a key Interface to your stakeholder areas Take an active part in the project, contribute to the fulfillment of the total project, and be the voice of SD&I in the Project Management team Facilitate purchasing revenue creation by supporting revenue streams from our supply network partners Inform the Purchasing line organization about project demands, targets, time schedules, and other relevant project information Prepare and present project statuses and management project reviews in purchasing reference groups as well as other forums Ensure Purchasing resources are secured for projects Contribute and secure that the purchasing time plan fits within the overall time plan Identify and secure that purchasing related risk mitigation plans/actions are documented and communicated to the project team and relevant groups Appreciated Attributes Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize Open minded and a positive attitude Utilize your strong communication skills to be the connector Able to lead colleagues in a trustful manner Team oriented and place value in trust-based collaboration Developed ability to develop and inspire/motivate others Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology, and markets Face problems and act quickly and directly; provide direct and actionable feedback Appreciate feedback and seek for continuous improvement Make good decisions in line with internal stakeholders, with risks, opportunities, and alternative solutions in mind Structured with analytical and logical mindset What We Also Pay Attention To 6+ years of Project Management experience Heavy trucking, automotive, construction equipment, aviation, or aerospace industry experience required Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent working experience Experience in digitalization / Power BI Compensation/Benefits Competitive base salary Company bonus Comprehensive health benefits 401(K) with company match as well as additional automatic company contribution Culture with a passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for all Flexible work environment 5 - 6 weeks of annual vacation Global organization with expansive career growth opportunities Volvo Group University for professional and personal developmentWorkplace health/wellness, and reimbursement programs On-campus fitness center and café
