Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as a Senior Project Manager, Transportation for the San Antonio, El Paso, Fort Worth, Dallas and McAllen Texas Markets. This position will serve as a Principal and Senior Project Manager on medium to large scale transportation projects.  The successful candidate will oversee and be responsible for transportation programs, key accounts and business development in our targeted locations in Texas.  Successful candidates will have established relationships and demonstrated project management and business experience with transportation agencies to include Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), local government, and private sector clients.

 

In addition, viable candidates will possess a proven and verifiable track record of winning and executing (seller-doer) large, complex transportation projects on Texas projects.  Comprehensive understanding of highway and roadway design to be effective at directing extensive engineering projects of significant importance. Design build experience is a plus and established relationships with contractors is desired.

 

The successful candidate will manage various transportation agency projects and staff as well as serve as a capture manager for new clients and pursuits on major projects. The successful candidate will be client service focused, communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, mentor staff and promote Gannett Fleming’s capabilities to target audience --- focused on results.

 

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to:

Business development: Cultivating client relationships, identifying and evaluating pursuits, establishing teaming relationships and leading proposal efforts in alignment with the growth strategy for Texas. Develops strategies and tactical action plans to deliver business development and client relations objectives. Identify trends and opportunities for business and resource growth.Providing guidance and oversight to client managers in the defined area to high performance on projects, account growth and client satisfaction.Serving as Principal or Sr. Project Manager on large complex transportation projects and responsible for the full performance of every phase of a major project or group of projects. Planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of contractual activities for the project.   Supervising and mentoring project managers, technical support and guidance to engineering staff as required. Initiates and reviews proposals and sales activities. Leads or participates in interviews and presentations.Oversees quality of project work performed, client service, marketing, local representation/perception as well as assisting with statewide utilization of staff. Attend conferences of strategic significance. Maintaining community presence and visibility through membership and active participation in various professional, civic and business organizations as well as other appropriate means in the San Antonio, El Paso, Fort Worth, Dallas and McAllen Texas areas.

Minimum Qualifications

BS in civil or structural engineering is required; advanced degree is desirable.Registered Professional Engineer in State of Texas Minimum 15 years progressive experience as project manager or related experience managing transportation projects.A strong background in project management, heavy civil infrastructure engineering and business development with verifiable track record of winning and executing large complex transportation projects across the State of Texas as requiredEstablished relationships with public transportation agency clients and with industry contacts in the San Antonio, El Paso, Fort Worth, Dallas or McAllen Texas areas.Growth focused with ability to attract and develop talent to expand market and meet growing needs of our clients.Self-starter with the ability to address multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge, confront and lead through influence.Excellent communication and present
