Your OpportunityAs a Senior Project Manager, Water, you will work on some of the most exciting and complex projects around focus on Project Leadership, Business Development, Seller/Do-er. Collaborating with Senior leaders with Stantec.
Does working with clients on great projects, with a talented team of professionals while driving top line appeal to you? the Senior Project Manager, Water is the “seller/doer” responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of excellent work to our clients. You lead the growth of the Business and Stantec’s market position by leveraging their technical skills, industry and market knowledge, and client and partner relationships to purse and win work that transforms our business and inspires our people. You work closely with account managers, business developers, Sector Leaders (SLs) and project managers to identify and manage our key accounts, pursue opportunities, and solicit feedback from clients on our performance. You partner with the broader leadership team to lead and manage, inspire and engage, win and do work – building a culturally strong and high performing business.
Your Key Responsibilities Using your knowledge of advanced engineering principles, you design and oversee complex projects involving provision of potable water, disposal of wastewater and sewage, or prevention of flood-related damage. You lead and participate in pursuits and campaigns for major BC and Regional opportunities; engage directly in relationship development, positioning, win strategies and teaming. You engage in the development and maintenance of relationships between the Company, strategic partners, and clients to expand business opportunities. You maintain strong client relationships and help identify "zipper" approaches with key clients. You may manage one or more Key Client accounts. You’re responsible for driving project delivery and excellence. You lead or assign responsibility for oversight of project delivery, QAQC, discipline excellence and technical quality, documents quality and best practices in the execution of work. You review contracts, fees and proposals on local and large pursuits, in partnership with our risk management team. You support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts. You proudly represent our projects in client meetings and continue to cultivate relationships with client organizations, and lead project coordination meetings with internal and external partners. You will be a mentor and a leader to more junior professional and technical staff, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff working on a common project. You investigate and advise on unusual and difficult problems encountered in the water/wastewater engineering practice. You develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for projects. You assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiations. You contribute to the development of new standards and specifications of water/wastewater design. Engineer of record on own work product.Your Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Engineering with an emphasis in Civil or Environmental Engineering Minimum of 10 years of professional experience Experience and expertise with the design of water/wastewater conveyance and/or treatment projects. Experience with the design of water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure. Professional Licensed Engineer in the State of OhioTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
