Senior Project Manager

The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to deliver project management and advisory services for internal and external clients across the built environment sector. You will be involved in client facing projects in Commercial Property, Science Industry & Technology business sectors, with an opportunity to work across a variety of wider building related projects as opportunities arise.
You will assist the management and oversight of all aspects of project delivery, including design management. You will also be responsible for but not be limited to:

Working as part of a team to deliver commissions, in full compliance with Arup Management System requirements. Managing and delivering national and international projects in line with the client’s objectives, within agreed time frames and to the budget. It will include coordination and control of all activities within projects. (Aligning project objectives with the customer and internally)but also business development activities including developing client relationships and preparation of bids. Projects’ stakeholder engagement and management. Taking a lead in establishing and maintaining relationships with our customers and develop new service offerings. Focus on developing and expanding PPM offerings in a specific business sector or sub-sector. Taking part in leading and developing teams.

Is this role right for you?
To ensure that Arup can continue to deliver top quality, we are looking for candidates who meet at least the following criteria:
•    Completed relevant university education (e.g. Construction Management & Engineering or Civil Engineering at a Technic University).
•    Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of project and/or design management.
•    Practical work experience on Commercial Property and/or Science Industry & Technology projects.
•    Excellent communication skills in the Dutch and English language is mandatory.
•    Experience of managing projects and engagement with contractors, developers and/or public clients is an advantage.
•    You have good commercial acumen.
•    You have experience in developing, managing and leading teams.
•    You can work on a project basis and you can move well within multidisciplinary teams.
•    Possess the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment focused on excellent result.
•    You have a strong understanding of the construction market and processes in the Netherlands.
•    Strong proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is required.

•    IPMA Level C or Prince 2 Practitioner are an advantage.
•    Proficiency in MS Project and/or Primavera P6 is an advantage.

You will be a member of the Programme and Project Management team in our Amsterdam office. We support a hybrid way of work with 2-3 days/week working from the office. In the long term, temporary placement in one of our foreign offices is also possible.
