We are currently hiring for a dedicated Senior Project Manager located in the Orange County area. This position will be a key figure in supporting the educational bond program of a K-12 public school district and is a great opportunity to contribute towards providing outstanding educational facilities for our nations youth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead a project team, either a large project or multiple projects within a particular program.
Define technical scope of project.
Attend Bi-Weekly Design Review Meetings with school district, Architect, and Construction Manager.
Provide Comments on Program Wide Document Controls System.
Review & Concur with the Architects regarding the design status of each project.
Review & Concur with the Construction Manager's concerning the budget for each project.
Manage the receipt of Monthly Reports from Architects & Construction Managers.
Manage the receipt of Contract Deliverables from Architects & Construction Managers.
Manage the Implementation of District Comments for Design Standards.
Manage the Completion of Design Development Cost Estimates by Architects, Project Managers, and Construction Managers.
Manage the Reconciliation Process for Design Development Cost Estimates.
Manage the Completion of Updated Schedules with Standard WBS by Construction Managers.
Manage the Program Wide Commissioning Services Consultants, DSA Inspection & Testing Services, DSA Laboratory of Record Services, and CEQA consultants.
Manage the Submittal, SOV, Shop Drawings and Sample Review Process.
Issue Recommendations to improve any program process or procedure.
Perform construction site visits to review the General Contractor progress and attend job site meetings.
Manage the OFCI equipment list generation and approval from the Engineer of Record. Coordinate with General Contractor the pick-up and delivery to site of equipment.
Manage project level conflict resolution.
Facilitate and maintain communications with the client in addition to providing monthly/weekly/daily reports.
Achieve the client’s objectives by successfully managing the client’s project, goals, and objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Prior knowledge and experience working with the Division of State Architect (DSA).
Delegate providing clear instructions and ongoing feedback.
Monitor metrics and course correct as necessary while holding self and others accountable.
Provide feedback to senior leaders and clearly communicate organizational direction to team members.
Build relationships with key internal resources (peers, direct reports, & senior leaders).
Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.
Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.
Actively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field required.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management. Experience with public works and educational facility projects required.
Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED
