Your Opportunity 

We are currently seeking an experienced Transit Subways Project Manager to complement our transit team in the GTHA. The Transit Subways Project Manager will play a lead role in the delivery of large multi-year projects for clients. Assignments may include the requirement to work from the client’s premises in the GTHA. This is a long-term role with the MH now Stantec team within our expanding Transit group. As a project manager and technical lead, you’ll collaborate closely with the Client and Technical Advisory team on this transformative city project. 

Your Key Responsibilities 

Develops project strategies while providing overall administrative and technical leadership and oversight to multiple corridor project activities to ensure coordination of efforts and successful completion Plans, sets objectives, and controls activities during the design and construction phase of the project in conjunction with Managers and project teams Facilitate and develop interfaces, requirements, and concepts Support and co-ordinate technical reviews of designs, plans, specifications, construction submittals, testing and commissioning documents, etc. Support the development and undertaking of Verification and Validation (V&V) processes Delivers presentations, attends meetings, and provides acts as ambassador for the organization and its initiatives Partners, and manages relationships with, internal cross-functional departments (e.g. rail operations, corridor delivery group, procurement) to ensure progression of project and seamless commissioning/ deployment into operational service Promotes a safe and healthy work environment; ensures project teams, contractors and trades comply with health, safety and environmental standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements

Your Capabilities and Credentials 

Demonstrates experience providing comprehensive engineering and project management services associated with the planning, design, and construction of transit facilities, station infrastructure, and related works. Previous experience includes leading a team of technical professionals Valid Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is an asset. Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is considered an asset. INCOSE certification is considered an asset Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders Possesses good oral and written communication skills Strong collaboration and leadership skills Theories, principles, and practices of civil and/or systems design and construction; skill and proficiency in broad phases of engineering application. Proficiency or experience with both is a strong asset Project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls, to lead and direct cross functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects Understanding of systems integration principles such as interface management and requirements management, including experience using tools such as DOORS NG, and familiarity with ISO15288 Standard would be considered an asset Self-starter, able to work independently and lead initiatives on projects Adapts to different project environments, good communication and interpersonal skills Highly creative, out-of-the-box approach for problem-solving Ability to work at a project office near Yonge Street and Finch 

Education and Experience 

Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent Minimum 12 years of experience with managing large scale interdisciplinary projects Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
