Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the initiation, planning, and execution of Waterfall projects. The ideal candidate will work with technical and business leaders to define project investment opportunities, resource requirements, and delivery performance expectations. The role involves managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, on budget, and meeting quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesDefine project investment opportunities, including scope, schedule, budget, and benefits.Identify and negotiate project resource requirements with delivery organizations, set delivery expectations, and evaluate delivery performance.Plan and execute Waterfall projects to meet performance criteria as defined in project statements.Develop project estimates using Agile software development estimation techniques.Manage project scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, procurement, and integration.Identify and manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.Develop and review project requirements with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads.Facilitate interactions between Technical Leads, Project Delivery Staff, and QE Leads.Facilitate cross-departmental project delivery activities and manage competing demands.Plan and lead project implementations, including dry runs and Go live activities.Escalate material issues and risks to leadership in a timely fashion.Ensure Organizational Change Management activities are completed to drive product adoption.Plan for and complete the Transition to Support to ensure support organizations can manage new or modified systems.Follow IS PMO processes regarding deliverables, stage gates, and SOX compliance.Create and maintain project financials using SAP, PPM, and Excel.Develop and support presentations to senior management regarding project scope, schedule, budget, and status updates.Provide project leadership by setting clear goals, engaging team members, resolving conflicts, and recognizing contributions.Conduct regular lessons learned sessions for continuous improvement.Adapt rapidly to changes in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.Essential SkillsSignificant experience leading large, multi-stakeholder information systems projects.Post-secondary education in Commerce/Business, Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science.Expertise in project management planning tools (MS Project) and MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience working in a team-oriented environment and developing collaborative relationships.Experience managing Software and Technology Development or Application Integration projects using Iterative, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills at the root cause and complexity level.Ability to understand business and technical strategies and communicate them to governing bodies.Experience in developing statements of work (SOW), participating in contract negotiations, and managing vendors and materials delivery.Additional Skills & QualificationsProven track record in project leadership.Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.Ability to appreciate and understand different cultural values and sensitivities.Self-starter with strong accountability and pride of ownership in delivering quality solutions.Work Environment
The contractor will use standard IS PMO processes and tools. The position involves a collaborative work environment with cross-departmental interactions and requires adaptability to a fast-paced setting. The role requires adherence to SOX and management controls compliance and involves using various technologies, including SAP, PPM, and MS Office products.

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $80.00
