Summary:
The Customer Experience and Digital Transformation team within Thomson Reuters seeks a high-energy motivated individual with strong project management skills. Our organization is responsible for transforming Thomson Reuters into a digital-first business. This individual will manage projects that support the delivery of digitally enabled solutions and drive operational efficiencies in our organization. These programs may require collaboration with various business and technology areas and involve multiple globally located businesses and project teams. The key to our success is largely dependent on the stellar ability of our project management team. We’re currently searching for an experienced, proactive, and collaborative program leader to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead programs that drive results and process improvements. We are looking for someone who is motivated by the desire to improve our customers’ experiences, optimize productivity, and nurture program success from inception to completion.
About the Role
In this opportunity, as Senior Project Manager you will:
Manage large technology and business-related projects that involve driving key initiatives to deliver digitally enabled solutions that improve our customer's experience and simplify business operations.
Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues to the success of the project. Develop contingency plans to mitigate or avoid the risk. Ensure there is appropriate visibility of risks and issues to all levels of management, up to and including executive management.
Maintain effective control, leadership, and responsibility for the delivery of the project - including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business value. Recommend solutions to any issues that change the scope of the project or negatively impact its delivery or cost.
Develop and track detailed project plans to meet business needs, including schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution plans. Ensure delivery milestones and timelines are articulated.
Build key relationships and interfaces with all areas of the business to ensure the success of the program.
Work closely with functional resource managers to ensure adequate allocation of resources to projects and programs being managed.
Define, communicate, and champion an agility mindset to deliver the organization’s objectives.
Ensure the communication channels and processes are in place to notify key stakeholders about status, changes, and issues/risks.
Proactively identify and recommend project improvements. Deliver project reports to an executive-level audience as necessary.
Facilitate and manage the integration and coordination of systems, processes, staff, and resources.
Provide direction, and leadership and act as an information and support source for project team members.
Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and policies.
Provide management and leadership for project management contractors and/or additional project management staff as applicable
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Senior Project Manager if you have:
BS/BA required with minimum of 7 years of progressive program/project management experience, including implementation programs of cross-functional projects in a technology or matrix organizational environment.
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle(s)
Able to communicate and influence by adapting style to reflect changing needs at all stakeholder levels
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, as well as resource allocation and budgeting experience
Strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to flex schedule to work with global business partners
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio, Excel PowerPoint, and MS Project or other project management tools.
Demonstrated experience delivering and managing projects with cross-functional requirements and dependencies through the entire lifecycle.
Proven project management skills including a fully competent knowledge of project management methodologies and how to execute; the ability to manage projects with competing demands for limited resources.
Proven skills in directing non-dedicated resources and staff in high-exposure projects with tight deadlines and competing resources.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities and proactively drive changes in project scope, timelines, and requirements
Able to lead all phases of the projects. Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the program and ensures stakeholders have information to make effective decisions.
Excellent team building and proven leadership skills.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience leading cross-functional, remote, and virtual project teams in a matrix organization. •Experience interacting with senior management and business stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience in building relationships and eliciting cooperation with all areas of the business to ensure the success of the program.
Able to effectively communicate complex ideas at multiple organizational levels and can modify personal approach and style to reflect changing circumstances.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey messages to all levels in the organization; experience working on projects that may have sensitive and confidential impacts.
Results-oriented.
Strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.
Outstanding attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as Project Management (PMP), Change Management (PROSCI), and/or Agile (Scrum Master, ACP) certifications
Demonstrated experience managing teams through a significant transformation with an ambiguous scope and audacious vision

The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: Eagan, MN; Ann Arbor, MI; Richmond, VA; Rochester, NY. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $97,100 - $180,300. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
