IT Project Manager III – Senior Level

Summary

Conexess Group is aiding a local, well-known healthcare client in their search for a level 3 IT Project Manager This Senior IT Project Manager will play a key role in advancing the PMO department by orchestrating and managing a wide variety of medium to large scale projects and helping improve standardization. The role is responsible for the overall planning, management, and completion of IT projects. It requires advanced comprehension of Project Management practices and principles and must possess elevated organizational, communication, and documentation skills. The Senior IT Project Manager will lead enterprise-level initiatives collaborating with business and stakeholders to enable the successful completion and documentation of complex projects to ensure the projects meet budget, schedule scope, and other required controls.

Essential Functions:

Full project life cycle ownership for technical projects and programs which can be very complex in nature. Must have general knowledge of network and system properties to actively participate in discussions and planning. Displays leadership abilities by driving communication, building relationships with internal and external teams, and being primary point of contact for all project aspects. Establish and manage project and program expectations while advancing and managing deliverables with stakeholders and team resources. Performs as liaison between IT departments, Operation departments, and facility leadership. Integrates project plans and schedules from multiple sources to create a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones. Manages the project plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters. Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues. Works with Team Leads to assign, schedule, review, and monitor project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines. Provides superior project documentation and status reporting in a succinct and timely manner. Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of IT projects. Maintains effective communication and working relationships with project stakeholders and project team members, communicating project status, progress, and issues within the team as well as to project sponsors and upper management frequently. Analyzes, documents, and shares lessons learned with Project and Team Leads, completes project closure process and documentation, adjust project processes and documentation as required per analysis at project close. Facilitates documentation and integration of policies and processes for acquired entities in relation to hardware, software, facility, or service programs. Mentors project team members on best practices, process improvement, and project management skills. Prepares and presents oral and/or written technical reports and project presentations. Participates in special projects, particularly those that contribute to the IT project management methodology. Identifies new opportunities for methodology improvements. Assists business leaders with defining Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBAs) to justify new projects and prioritization.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of experience in an enterprise project and/or program management role implementing and supporting complex business and systems environments. Experience with technical alternatives and basic knowledge of emerging technologies. Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external. Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within defined time frames and possess the ability to adapt to frequent priority changes. English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions. Experience with project management applications such as MS Project and/or Smartsheet.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

PMP, PgMP, or similar project/program management certification is a plus
