The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working as part of a Transformation Team modernising our ways of working to ensure that we are ready for the future growth of the business.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

Provide end-to-end delivery throughout the project lifecycle, you’ll also be responsible for supporting with requirement capture, scoping, technical and commercial solutions and the generation of business cases and proposal documents.  Provide effective risk management to ensure that the business’ risk exposure is kept to a minimum and is effectively managed throughout the project.  Ensure that effective change management is applied to projects, balancing flexibility of changing requirements with the need to delivery to budget and timescales. Plan and secure resource for current and future projects, documenting demand and in alignment with effort required to deliver projects. Review and present management information including regular progress reviews and Project Boards to ensure effective internal stakeholder management and on-time delivery.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days per month onsite. However, you may be required to work for longer periods onsite if the project demands. Also, you may be required to travel to other Bristol sites and Devonport. 

 

Essential Experience of the Senior Project Manager

Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a technical transformation project environment. Leading and managing a dispersed team of project staff, providing direction and motivation. Managing projects with differing demands and deadlines. Understanding and managing dependencies between sub-projects. Working on internal change or IT implementation projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies is highly desirable. Working with and presenting to senior stakeholders.


Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager 

Project Management Qualification accredited by Association for Project Management, Chartered status or equivalent.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
