Position Specific Description
The Senior Project Manager within NEER Development Digital Solutions and Analytics team is responsible for overseeing and managing GIS projects that support NextEra Energy's renewable energy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience with GIS technology, project management, and team leadership to ensure successful project delivery and the enhancement of geospatial data and tools. This role is based in Juno Beach, FL and will not require any travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with business unit and technical GIS teams to identify new opportunities for leveraging geospatial data and tools Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of geospatial projects from inception to completion Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business teams to gather requirements and define project objectives and deliverables Communicate project status, updates, and potential roadblocks to stakeholders and senior management Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting continuous improvement and innovation in GIS practices and tools. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders to verify that solutions meet business requirements and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. At least 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on geospatial and/or renewable energy or related industries. Proficiency with GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS and related technologies. Strong understanding of spatial data analysis, data management, and geospatial technologies. Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Experience in the energy sector and knowledge of renewable energy project development. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection Constructs contractual arrangements for project development Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Grad/GED Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Experience: 5+ years Preferred Qualifications None
