Senior Project Manager – Electrical Energy Distribution

BL Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to help us grow our energy team in the New Jersey area. This position requires a high focus on the growth of our New Jersey Energy market business, and includes both a business development component, and an emphasis on recruiting and developing staff. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow our presence in the flourishing New Jersey Energy market, by applying BL Companies’ existing successful business model within our employee-owned framework.
The selected candidate will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the successful leadership and oversight of large complex utility-scale electrical distribution and / or substation engineering projects.
Responsibilities Include:
Manages the client relationship and is usually the primary point of contact with the client or the client’s representatives
Leads entire project process including but not limited to schedule, scope and budget ensuring that all project requirements are met, and that project is produced and delivered at a quality consistent with industry standards and meets or exceeds client’s expectations.
May present testimony and/or serve as the client’s representative at permitting and hearing presentations.
Works with our internal recruiting department to source and recruit project managers, senior engineers, and engineering staff who will report to the candidate and assist the candidate in their mission.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 12 years' experience leading and overseeing the design of electric utility power distribution (15 kV and below) overhead and underground lines, or distribution substations
Strong relationships within the New Jersey Energy Market
Demonstrated experience with the direct management of employees
Must possess strong interpersonal, communications and technical skills
BSEE is preferred
PE Licensure preferred
