HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support our facilities design projects within the Building Engineering Services Business Group in Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC. This individual must have at least 10 years of progressive experience leading design teams focused on facility projects through the planning, design, permitting and construction phases. We support the delivery of datacenter projects, development and commercial projects throughout the Southeast (including renovation as well as greenfield work), projects supporting the aerospace industry, as well as projects supporting the breadth of HDR’s suite of services. This person will perform client development and management activities to support our design center in Charlotte, NC. They will need to be skilled in communicating with clients, leading multi-discipline design teams through large projects, coordinating with sub-consultants, delivering projects on time and within budget. On a day-to-day basis, they will be expected to:

Function as Senior Project Manager, and take responsibility for executing projects and managing and developing multidiscipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management toolsBuild team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and trainingHave the opportunity to lead and mentor other staffParticipate in leadership for external marketing and planningTravel regionally/nationally as neededPerform contract preparation and negotiation, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and project quality control

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline10 years of related engineering experience, 5 in project managementMicrosoft Office Suite experience is requiredExcellent communication, leadership and planning skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environmentStrong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda and reportsLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field 7 years related experience A minimum of 2 years  project management experience Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
