Job Description
As a Project Manager for Education Facilities Rehabilitation and Construction, you will manage facilities repair and modernization projects from initial concept through design, construction, and warranty phases. This includes projects in schools, universities, and related educational facilities. You will collaborate with the Owner’s Engineer-of-Record (EOR), Construction Contractor, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery within established budgets.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage multiple Owner-assigned projects, ensuring alignment with Owner’s goals.
+ Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, guiding them from conception through the design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and warranty periods.
+ Assist the Owner in preparing necessary bidding and proposal information, bidding forms, and other relevant construction documents.
+ Arrange for and participate in pre-bid conferences of prospective bidders or proposers, if required by the Owner.
+ Assist the Owner in obtaining bids or negotiated proposals by evaluating bids, bidders, proposals, and proposers.
+ Monitor and evaluate Construction contractor performance by conducting weekly site meetings, shop drawing reviews, and managing Owner’s final acceptance and payment of construction.
+ Perform additional related duties as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Must have a PE License.
+ Minimum of 10 years of project management experience focused on educational facilities (schools and universities).
+ Proven experience managing the design and construction of at least three K-12 or higher education projects with construction costs of at least $5M.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
+ Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
+ Adept at MS Office applications and intermediate proficiency in project scheduling tools and techniques.
+ Strong understanding of design or construction processes, educational facility standards, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification processes.
+ Ability to present to Owner’s leadership and County Commissioners.
+ Must currently reside in South Florida (preferably Miami-Dade County) and be willing to drive to Owner locations across the County (mileage will be reimbursed).
+ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This role requires on-site presence at client locations and travel to their 8 campuses across Miami-Dade County as needed for projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
