Senior Project Manager/K-14 DSA
Job Title: Senior Project Manager/K-14 DSAJob Description The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and direction of project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule from initial project identification through construction closeout. The role may involve supervising office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, project/construction managers, and other assigned staff. Responsibilities + Serve as the primary contact and liaison for owner and principal partner entities regarding contract, design, systems, procedures, and related deliverables. + Ensure contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with construction/project requirements. + Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities. + Represent the owner, project, and related parties in public forums and meetings. + Assist with creative constructability ideas to reduce overall exposure (cost & time) and participate in value-engineering exercises to maintain the project design budget. + Develop independent estimates with consultants and facilitate reconciliation processes. + Ensure project contract deliverables and reporting are executed, including meeting minutes, daily construction reports, monthly and quarterly reports, quality control reports, schedules, documentation (photographs) of work progression, and field review of current scope of work completed to date. + Possess strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance with project requirements. + Review and validate Change Order COR/FCO. + Manage project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems, and project closeout. + Lead project meetings, including documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses. + Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities. + Ensure project team adheres to safety requirements. + Manage bid phase services as required. + Perform other duties as required. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent. + Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Project Manager and an additional 3 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager supervising staff. + Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes. + Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts, and delivery methods. + Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices. + Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications, and applied experience in project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings. + Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, SharePoint, and experience with project-related systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proficiency with various document control systems. + Experience with new construction and modernization government facilities. + Familiarity with common construction materials, methods, and equipment. + Strong ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms. + Ability to anticipate and resolve project design and construction challenges or issues and prioritize critical issues on projects and work toward solutions. + Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred. + Certified Construction Manager preferred.
