Overview TRC is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager to support our growing Environmental, Construction & Remediation practice in New England and New York (and beyond). The position is based in Vermont with periodic travel to TRC’s Maine, Massachusetts and New York offices and will report directly to the Northern New England Practice Leader. The successful candidate will provide due diligence, technical investigation design and implementation support for a variety of projects including Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, subsurface/fractured bedrock investigations, geophysical investigations, PFAS investigations, TSCA investigations, remediation systems, abatement projects, and facility compliance support. A broad suite of analytical and computer-based skill sets is desired with an expectation that the successful candidate will collaborate and contribute to in-house centers of excellence focused on these topics. In addition, the candidate will engage in growing TRC’s market share in Vermont in the Brownfields, government (state and municipal), institutional, industrial, and transportation markets. Business development and leading proposal efforts will be a core component of this position. This position will also serve as a mentor for junior and mid-level consulting professionals. Working in collaboration with project managers, remediation engineers, field team leaders, Professional Engineers, Professional Geologists, Licensed Site Professionals (LSP), Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs); the successful candidate will work on interesting site investigation and remediation projects in the northeast region and throughout the United States. You could also work on international site investigation and remediation projects as TRC continues its strong growth both nationally and internationally. Responsibilities Identify new opportunities to expand TRC’s market share in Vermont. Lead proposal efforts in Vermont and across New England. Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments. Design, plan and oversee field data collection, including sampling, drilling, well installation, aquifer monitoring, and remedial system operation and maintenance. Synthesize site characterization and remediation information to develop and refine conceptual site models. Review investigation and remediation data developed by other consultants/agencies and develop recommendations for additional investigation and remediation activities. Write and review technical documents, reports and designs, ensuring consistent delivery of materials. Ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Control of deliverables pertaining to projects and tasks self-managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others, in accordance with TRC’s procedures. Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients. Serve as Task Lead or Project Manager for specific portions of broader assignments. Mentor aspiring junior and mid-level professionals. Work well with dynamic project teams and junior staff. Maintain a billable utilization target. Have strong communications skills, both written and oral. Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic regional travel and client support. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in geology, environmental engineering, environmental science or related degree required. MS or PhD desired. Minimum 10 years of experience. Environmental field work experience. Desire to develop new business in Vermont. Strong written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports. Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols. Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team. Detail-oriented with troubleshooting/problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple projects/proposal commitments at one time. Work independently with minimal supervision. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (with up-to-date 8-hour refresher a plus). Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of experience designing, directing, and implementing assessment and remediation. Track record of developing an assessment and remediation business unit in Vermont. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
