About the role:
Gartner is looking for a well-rounded Senior Project Manager/ScrumMaster who can provide project and program leadership for its Sales and Service technology team, which is responsible for developing web-based applications and integrations to support its Sales and Service Technology applications( primarily Anaplan tool used as territory planning and management software) . The candidate will be responsible for program and project management of key initiatives needed to build and run Gartner’s internal web sites, people data internal and vendor integrations, and people analytics. The candidate will be responsible for project deliverables, project schedule/budget, Relationship Management, people management and Vendor Management. The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in an Agile/SCRUM environment, has worked closely with business partners, has played a key role in supporting internal applications and has demonstrable experience managing relationships/expectations of the business and development teams.
What you will do:
Lead activities associated with complex IT projects of varying types and sizes, applying project management principles and techniques to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects.
Partner across functional IT groups to identify resource, task, and project interdependencies. Communicate across related areas of Gartner IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and leverage shared capabilities.
Analyze and rationalize requirements to determine agreed, achievable project objectives that align to organizational goals and strategies. Drive estimates for all components of the projects.
Review and integrate multiple work streams of projects into a structured, cohesive project plan.
Participate (and drive as necessary) Test planning and execution of the solution to meet business needs. Partner with engineering teams to drive functional test automation.
Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, processes, tools, and templates, that help secure desired outcomes
Report progress to management and oversee publication of monthly management reports and updates
Manage a team of Project Managers (as necessary) providing guidance and oversight to the portfolio
Establish project metrics with available tools to track health, quickly analyze problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact, and develop resolution options
Act as a Change Agent - Create long term strategies and approaches to control and manage projects in support of complex business requirements
Manage day to day activities for agile teams including sprint management, sprint metrics and backlog management. Ensures Agile/Scrum process is implemented effectively and provides coaching at the team level to maximize its benefits.
Facilitate discussions that lead to the resolution of project issues and development impediments.
Report project progress to management and executive level stakeholders.
Should be able to interact well with both internal associates and external clients in resolving operational issues.
Develop processes to manage operational issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Identify systemic operational issues and resolve them as well as identifying root causes and process improvements to present similar issues.
What you will need:
4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience
5 to 10 years of experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
Strong experience with the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile) Exhibit’s ability to run projects using the Agile Scrum methodologies, from small teams to large, with multiple outside dependencies and 3rd party project team members.
Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of programming documentation processes/procedures
Strong ability to understand client expectations and to resolve issues that may affect delivery.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training with a strong aptitude for delivering quality products. Exhibits desire to continuously learn new tools, techniques, and methodologies.
Preferred experience with Continuous Integration practices/tools and Open-Source Frameworks.
Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Deep working knowledge and understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology and incremental delivery.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights for decision-making and leverage data to improve operations
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred experience with Anaplan Tool.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 92,000 USD - 130,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
