The Role
As a Senior Project Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary to lead and establish Planning and Scheduling from bid through to execution/delivery, with the opportunity to be involved in the contract negotiation for the function creating a successful relationship up front with the customer & building trust from day 1.
Day-to-day, you’ll support a wide range of exciting design, manufacture and Equipment support projects, and works with a number of key clients both domestically and internationally. You will work with various stakeholders including Project Managers, Control Account Managers, Project Controllers, customers and wider project stakeholders. You will also sit within our Planning Discipline, reporting to the Project Planning Discipline Leader who will support future development.
Develop and successfully delivery of a detailed integrated schedule. Creating baselines and baseline management. Consistently analysing schedule data to inform project team of risk & opportunities. Use specific techniques for performing measurement such as Earned Value Management (EVM), S-Curve, variance analysis, lookahead reporting etc. Help build the function & tool maturity by creating/delivering working processes and sharing good practice.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with maximum 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. However, you may be required to attend longer periods onsite, if the project demands.
Essential Experience of the Senior Project Planner
Proficient in the use of project scheduling software essentially Primavera P6, with a basic knowledge of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP). Excellent analytical and planning skills, with the ability to Develop & mentor and teach the rest of the function with best practice. Relevant experience in a similar role & environment. Experience creating, maintaining, and working in accordance with related Governance artefacts (i.e. Project Management Plans, Schedule Management Plans etc). The ability to help mature the function & tool set with a standard approach attitude to simplify the way we work.
Qualifications for the Senior Project Planner
Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English.
