Senior Project Scientist - Environmental

Our Environmental team in Iselin, NJ is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Geologist or Scientist to join our team. Qualified personnel should be capable of managing medium to large scale environmental projects with a wide variety of scope of services. This individual should possess the following skills:

Reviews and analyzes a variety of data to determine requirements to meet environmental, geologic and/or engineering objectives.Maintains liaison with clients, regulators, and other individuals outside the firm. Applies knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignment and related fields.Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.Prepares or directs preparation and modification of environmental impact studies and reports, specifications, plans, and designs for project.Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to environmental/geology.Originates and applies new and unique methods and procedures.Supplies technical advice and counsel to other professionals.Outlines more difficult problems and methods of approach for other staff.Under general administration plans, conducts and directs projects of major significance which are highly difficult and complex in nature.Utilizes experienced professional judgment to research and analyze data.Prepares or directs preparation of reports and maps, interprets research data, and recommends further study or action.Directs soil testing and groundwater monitoring and sampling.Uses advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of geology, related sciences, and disciplines.Provides basic mentoring, reference, oversight, and supervision for less-experienced geologists and scientistsCapable of managing one or more employees

 

Candidate Specification:

 

Candidates should possess a B.S. degree in in Geology or Environmental Science (or equivalent) Licensed Site Remediation Professional licensure REQUIREDCandidate must demonstrate experience and knowledge in NJDEP documentation preparation, submittals, and compliance 10-15+ years of experience in conducting site investigations and remediation at ISRA, RCRA, UST or CERCLA sites involving solid waste, soil, and groundwater.Candidates must have familiarity with soil, vapor, and groundwater sampling, various drilling techniques, etc.Candidates should have strong technical writing skills for preparation of regulatory reports.Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3d experience preferred.Candidates should be familiar with federal, state, and county regulatory regulations.Possession of current 40-hour OSHA Health & Safety training. Candidates must pass a physical examination as a condition of employment for this position.
