Senior Projects Engineer
Senior Projects Engineer City Pasadena State/Province Texas Overview:

This position will manage capital projects in sustainability, infrastructure, maintenance, reliability at the Clearlake Complex. Utilizing strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources, producing tangible results.  Manage the execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction, and turnover to manufacturing of capital projects in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities: Drive a portfolio of multiple capital projects in various stages, from development to execution, with an eye for managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirementsUse their strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources, producing tangible resultsWork with internal and external engineering resources to develop the required deliverables for the FEL-1, FEL-2, FEL-3 and Execution phasesUnder broad direction, this individual has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to manage the execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction, and turnover to manufacturing of capital projects in accordance with applicable specifications and standards in order to achieve project objectivesAssures capital projects meet project objectives (including cost, schedule, and scope) by managing the development, design, and execution of assigned projects in accordance with specifications and standardsEnsures accurate cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting of assigned projectsProvides clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentationResponsible for providing new/revised Process Safety Information to the appropriate departmentsAnalyzes and manages risks on projectsFacilitates safety and constructability reviewsCreates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts listReports on cost (including forecasting) and schedule attainmentCommunicates and resolves technical and commercial issues as related to project objectivesResponsible for initiating the Management of Change, coordinates with the site PSM (Project Safety Management) representative regarding PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) requirements and participates in PHAs as neededSuccessfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, construction, project controls, and all other departmentsEnsures all project documentation is completedExercises direct control of cost and execution of assigned projects Qualifications:

 

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering7+ years experience in Capital Project Management in Chemical IndustryLed and managed Capital Projects (Up to $5.0 M TIC)Familiarity with applicable engineering codes/standards and their applicationWorking knowledge of equipment procurement and constructionStrong estimating skills and experience working with contractors, vendors and purchasingKnowledge of SAP as well as the Management of Change processStrong teamwork, results orientation and organizational skills are a mustExcellent communication skills, demonstrated problem solving and decision making
