Job Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for general ledger and financial reporting functions, accounts receivable and client billings, including but not limited to journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement production.
Your Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver Financial Statement packages for an assigned portfolio of Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations following the quality standards established by FirstService Residential. Verify correctness of information prior to submission. Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules. Analyze the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Investment reports for each account to ensure accuracy. Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger. Review periodic reports of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correct errors prior to close of accounting period. Prepare, review and analyze Accounts Receivables transactions. Review and analyze Accounts Payable to ensure they have been accurately coded and recorded. Identify, investigate, resolve and/or report on discrepancies. Prepare the Financial Statement package and submit for review to the assigned Association Manager Prepare additional financial reports requested by the Client to be included in the Financial Package or provided to the Community Association Manager and/or Board of Directors. Provide assistance and guidance to Association Management and Board of Directors by answering questions regarding monthly Financial Statements and other related matters. Prepare budget templates and assist association managers with the annual budgeting process. Review budgets and dues calculations Work with external audit staff to ensure timely delivery of audit/review reports and tax returns for clients. Review audit/review reports for accuracy, have a thorough understanding of adjusting audit entries. Post year end audit adjustments. Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners and third-party vendors to ensure proper coordination of systems (AvidXchange, ClickPay, WelcomeLink) Mentor, coach and provide guidance to the Client Accounting team and other department members Assist on special requests and projects as necessary. Train and develop Staff Accountants; provide guidance, direction, and input to Staff Accountants. Review Financials Statements prepared by Staff Accountants as needed. Assist Financial Reporting Supervisors and Managers as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred Associates Degree with position equivalent experience 5 to 7 years of related experience. Strong understanding of balance sheets, income statements, general ledgers, chart of accounts, journal entries and accrual basis accounting General Ledger experience Strong ability to explain financial reports and procedures to Association Managers and Board of Directors Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook and Excel) Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and problem solve Excellent time management and organizational skills Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Proven attention to detail Demonstrated integrity in work product and commitment to accuracy Strong ability to work as a productive and positive team member Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of settings; orally, verbally and writtenPhysical Requirements:

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually
