The Senior Public Relations Specialist extensive experience in public relations within a defense or government environment to serve in a full-time role developing and implementing high-level public relations strategies, managing communications, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. Duties of this role include
Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to promote the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) mission.Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, manage press inquiries, and handle media events.Lead the development of press releases, articles, speeches, and digital content to communicate initiatives.Manage crisis communication efforts and develop response plans for high-pressure situations.Provide strategic communication counsel to senior leadership and prepare executives for media engagements.Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and defense contractors.Plan and execute PR-related events, including press conferences and community engagement activities.Oversee related social media and digital communications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications Candidate must have an active secret clearance.Master's Degree with 8-12 years of related experience Experience in public relations, communications, or media relations, ideally within government or defense sectors.Proficiency in public relations tools, media monitoring, and social media management platforms.Excellent writing, editing, and content creation abilities for senior leadership and public outreach.Proven experience in developing and executing strategic PR plans, with leadership and crisis communication expertise.Experience working with military organizations and certifications such as APR (Accredited in Public Relations) are a plus. Business DevelopmentAssist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.
Physical Requirements Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
