If you’re a storyteller at heart with a passion for brand building through earned media, join the Marvin team as a Public Relations Strategist. In this role, you will work directly with the Director, Enterprise Public Relations + Reputation to champion and manage corporate public relations initiatives to support Marvin’s positioning, thought leadership and sales goals. You will have a key role in strategy development and execution of the company’s media relations initiatives and will initiate creative strategies to advance our positioning and maximize results from earned media.

 

You will also use creative public relations tactics to position the 112-year-old, family-owned and -led brand as a valuable editorial resource for trade and consumer media. You’ll turn complex, technical topics into authentic, compelling, sticky stories that media can’t resist reading and sharing. A successful candidate will be as comfortable writing engaging stakeholder communications as they are pitching media about our people-centered perspective on workspace design, and they’ll be experienced in tracking and leveraging performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Highlights of your role Supports the development of external communications positioning in alignment with internal communications, human resources and marketing for an integrated approach to storytelling Collaborates with external PR partners to plan and execute campaigns and earned media opportunities Identifies and executes award opportunities to enhance company and brand perception Helps identify internal and external thought leaders and subject matter experts Develops relationships with key media contacts at priority outlets You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Significant experience researching, interviewing for and writing clear, concise, creative, smart and engaging public relations contentDemonstrated experience translating organizational strategy to proactive earned media opportunities Developed key messaging and trained spokespeople for speaking opportunities, media engagements or similar Ability to anticipate potential issues or risks and are a strong conceptual thinkerNatural curiosity; a propensity to ask “why” to bring context and depth to your workExperience interacting and collaborating with senior leadership Also want to make sure you have 8+ years of public relations experienceA strong sense of the current media landscape, including print, broadcast, digital and emerging media platforms Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to think unconventionally or from a new perspectiveCrisis communications experience preferred We invite you to See Yourself at Marvin
