Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Senior Pump Station Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale, Florida with 10 or more years’ experience in planning, design and/or construction of water, wastewater and stormwater pump station projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to support one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. 

As the Senior Pump Station Engineer, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to successfully lead and manage municipal water/wastewater and stormwater pump station projects across Florida. This position offers significant growth opportunities for advancement as you manage technical delivery of projects build strong client relationships. 

Role accountabilities:

The Senior Pump Station Engineer will lead the technical execution of pump station work and provide technical leadership to our team to deliver successful projects. Some travel may be required to project site visits, client meetings, team meetings, conferences, etc.

Responsibilities include:

Lead design of pump station and hydraulic structures such as intakes and/or gate projects including, but not limited to layout development, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and development of contract drawings and specifications.

Exercising engineering judgement to develop solutions to complex hydraulic and pumping systems challenges.

Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams during all project phases, from schematic design to construction.

Serve as a pump station technical resource for the region and provide mentoring of junior engineers to grow our team’s capabilities in South Florida.

Participate in Arcadis’ quality culture by performing quality assurance and control reviews of pump station projects.

Establishing client relationships and supporting pump station marketing and pursuit efforts.

Scoping and budgeting tasks for pump station projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

10 years of pump station design experience. Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study. Florida PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months. 

Key Skills and Attributes:

Excellent technical engineering and project management skills in the pump station and hydraulics practice area. Project experience with pump station and hydraulic structure design projects. Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills and excellent technical writing skills. Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful track record of delivering various engineering projects to the expectations of the client. Functional experience with MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

15+ years of experience. Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or an MBA. Experience with large and complex pumping systems such as diesel driven pumps. Familiarity with pump station design standards such as Hydraulic Institute Standards and USACE Engineering Manuals. Experience with key clients in South Florida.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
