We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to build functional and efficient server-side applications who can push to request and refine requirements on broader intiatives and projects. Someone who can own the projects they work on.

Senior Python Developer responsibilities include participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle and coaching junior developers, as well as supporting our On-Call for support of Production environment. Great communication both verbal and written is a must for coordinating efforts remotely. If you’re a seasoned developer with a love for back-end technologies, we’d like to meet you.

Writing reusable, testable, and efficient codeDesign and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applicationsImplementation of security and data protectionIntegration of data storage solutionsPrimary support for internally developed data cluster softwareMonitoring data cluster software (primary) and hardware (secondary)First responder to all cluster related issues with an emphasis on root cause analysis

Impact You'll Make:

Skills And Qualifications:

Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (Django preferred)Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) librariesAble to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one systemGood understanding of server-side templating languagesStrong knowledge of relational databases, such as MySQL and MariaDBBasic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environmentsAble to create database schemas that represent and support business processesStrong unit test and debugging skillsExperience in production support in large environments, including problem identification, root cause analysis, ticket documentation and customer relationsVery strong spoken and written English is required

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
