Duties
The Senior Quality Engineer I is responsible for gathering relevant, factual information and data in order to solve quality related problems; resolve issues by identifying and applying solutions from acquired technical experience and guided precedents; plan and lead projects by identifying and organizing activities into time dependent sequencing with realistic timelines; work effectively/productively with all departments by developing a team atmosphere; assuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities; interact with many different functional departments, suppliers, and experts outside Zimmer to implement Zimmer Quality goals.
Requirements - Education and ExperienceEducation - Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Experience
Must have 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role or related position.
Must have 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, expert knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, understanding of QSR 820 and ISO 13485 regulations, design assurance, FMEA, product testing methods, and use of optical comparators and CMMs.
Must have 3 years of experience with knowledge of design controls, risk management, and verification and validation tools and methodologies.
Must have 2 years of experience with knowledge of statistics, process control, and process capability.
Must have 2 years of experience with knowledge of measurement system analysis, inspection methods, and sampling techniques.
Travel ExpectationsRole requires domestic travel up to 20%.
