Senior Quality Manager - Process Improvement

The Senior Quality Manager – Process Improvement role within the Mobile Solutions Corporate Quality organization is responsible for leading key quality projects to manage risk, develop and share best practices, and communicate globally. This role will be responsible for driving strategy and execution related to key quality initiatives. This role will be based out of our Bloomington, MN headquarters and is open to all Donaldson employees.

Role Responsibilities:

Lead multi-site/multi-region preventive and continuous improvement initiatives; building a sustainable business operating system across a global manufacturing footprint.

Partner with manufacturing and corporate engineering teams to improve alignment between product requirements and manufacturing capabilities. 

Benchmark manufacturing capabilities, processes, and procedures in Mobile Solutions plants globally.

Through influential leadership, provide direction to plant quality, engineering, and management teams to ensure global standardized business processes. 

Drive documentation methods to ensure sustainability of process knowledge.

Report on progress toward objectives and opportunities for improvement.

Develop subject matter expertise of products and manufacturing processes as assigned. 

Audit quality functions for compliance with established systems and standards; recommends corrective action as necessary.

Support the review and resolution of non-conformance or non-compliance to standards and/or regulations as required.

Be visible and available to support product lifecycle activities with customers, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing.

Serve as the primary product quality contact for assigned products globally.


TRAVEL: Up to 50%

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in quality, science, engineering, or technology related field

6+ years of experience within the manufacturing industry, including managerial experience

3+ years of experience of Quality management experience


Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes & engineering

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Demonstrated ability to be a strategic leader/thinker and planner

Demonstrated structured problem-solving experience

Proficient in use of automotive core quality tools (APQP, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, PPAP)

Previous experience working with global teams
