The Opportunity
The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for bioanalytical quality testing within the QIMS and SAP system. In this role you will complete assigned daily activities independently or with minimal supervision. Maintain product and testing inventory and comply with the quality system. Be the subject matter expert (SME) within their area of expertise.
What You’ll Work On
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality system.
Possess understanding of the Quality System and comply with Abbott Quality System (QS) requirements.
Take a lead in the lab to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) are executed and the lab is running efficiently. Participate in lab safety.
Work in a high-paced laboratory environment and has multiple certifications.
Experience with the following bioanalytical techniques: Extensive experience with Mass Spectrometry (MS), HPLC, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), and absorbance tests methods.
Is recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or two areas.
Train others in multiple key processes within work area.
Complete Quality testing as appropriate for products per procedures and review all data to determine conformance with specifications.
Ensure storage of samples and documents in the appropriate filing systems.
Participate in project and process improvement activities. Monitor performance of testing processes, implements process improvements, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide quality support to key processes and product development/improvement projects.
Communicate and collaborate effectively within team. Share quality knowledge; liaising with colleagues within team.
Proactively seeks improvement within Quality Technical work area.
Participate and take all trainings as required.
Maintain relevant documents and records.
Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health; safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws; as well at the Abbott Global and Technical standards.
CAPA – Provides input to facilitate CAPA investigations as required.
Assists with the collation of information requested during audits.
Position Accountability/Scope:
Individuals execute daily testing in a high-paced laboratory environment. Perform activities as assigned by scheduler/ quality professionals / manager. Identify and escalate any potential non-conformances / issues to quality professionals and manager. Apply appropriate actions to resolve with support from quality professionals. Support relevant activities. Become an SME on lab certifications. Basic computer skills are needed.
Required Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent plus a certificate in relevant Science Area
0-2 years' work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ideally a bachelor’s degree in a science or closely related discipline or equivalent relevant experience to demonstrate equivalence to a degree.

The base pay for this position is $24.80 – $49.60 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
