**Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in managing large-scale construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, cost estimation, and contract management.
**Key Responsibilities**
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team!
**What You’ll Be Doing**
+ Review and maintain knowledge of the Terms and Conditions of all contracts for which you are responsible.
+ Attend kick-off meetings and subsequent progress meetings with contractors; produce and distribute minutes of meetings.
+ Survey and measure work in progress; check contractors' interim payment applications.
+ Value additional works, site instructions, variations, and daywork applications; negotiate ‘rates’ with contractors where necessary.
+ Identify and report potential problem areas, particularly those likely to give rise to claims.
+ Assist the contracts administrator in the analysis and resolution of contractors' claims.
+ Conduct final measurement on work executed and prepare and agree on final accounts.
+ Assist in the close-out of completed claims.
+ Liaise with the client in all financial and contractual matters throughout the course of contracts.
+ Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
+ Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to optimize project costs.
+ Manage the procurement process, including tendering and contract negotiations.
+ Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project specifications and costs are aligned.
+ Monitor project progress, financial performance, and compliance with contractual obligations.
+ Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring effective resolution strategies.
+ Mentor and train junior quantity surveyors and support their professional development.
+ Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
**What Required Skills You’ll Bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
+ Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal aspects of contracts.
+ Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
