We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Quantum Computing Research Scientist.
Principal Responsibilities
HSBC is accelerating its research effort on developing advanced computing methods including innovative classical, hybrid and quantum algorithms with a focus on applications within Financial Services. The successful candidate will participate in ongoing academic and business relevant research projects and set new research directions in advanced computing with the aim to advance the field and provide valuable insights and both mid-term and long-term solutions to the business.
Publication of research results in peer reviewed journals and patent submission is strongly encouraged. As well as the research focus, this role will also be involved in contributing to the strategic direction of the bank and leading collaborative engagements with government, industry and university.
This role is part of the Emerging Technologies team and will offer the candidate an incredible opportunity to collaborate and find commercially viable applications for advanced computing architectures ranging from GPU-based physics inspired solvers to state-of-the-art quantum processors. The candidate will be able to rapidly establish themselves as a quantum computing technologist in the broader domain of Financial Services.
The position will be based in Singapore.
Lead and contribute to original research, based both on your own ideas and relevant areas of the bank that may benefit from advanced computing methodsForge strategic alliances with academic and industry luminaries, collaborating to solve complex computational problems tailored to intricate domain challengesEngage and build relationships with business units across the bank to test and implement quantum solutions to solve real world business computational challengesAuthor research publications and see them through the publication process (e.g. Quantum, APS Journals, Springer Journals, Nature Journals, etc)Communicate progress and disseminate results both internally and externallyLead / support grant proposals together with academic and business partnersAct as a Subject Matter Expert for your area, provide knowledge sharing sessions and thought leadershipSome careers grow faster than others.
