Senior R&D Scientist
Job Title: Lead R&D Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead R&D Scientist specializing in Flour and Grains to join our North America R&D team. This role requires close collaboration with the procurement function, interaction with external suppliers, and identification of new providers. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise in food science to drive strategic thinking, identify new opportunities, and take a hands-on approach during project launches. This position is critical to our biscuit category, focusing on innovation and ingredient functionality.

ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on flour and grains.Partner with Procurement to drive a sourcing strategy for generating savings on flour and grains.Lead the development and application of ingredient, product, package, or process technologies for complex R&D projects.Manage commercialization processes, project timelines, and savings estimates.Conduct consumer/product testing protocols and provide solid financial analysis.Identify and work with new providers and external suppliers.Essential Skills10+ years of experience in R&D or related supply chain functions.Proven track record in the successful development and application of ingredient, product, package, or process technologies.Extensive experience with commercialization, project timelines, savings estimates, and the 12M process.Strong experience in consumer/product testing protocols and financial analysis.Specific experience with grain or wheat flour.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the quality function of flour mills or similar roles is advantageous.Work Environment

This position is based in the US, physically located in East Hanover, NJ, where there are approximately 400 employees. Most employees work a hybrid schedule, except for the labs which are open five days a week. The dress code is business casual. Typical working hours are around 9-5 EST, although trials may require flexibility. Travel may be up to 30%. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
