Job Summary
Employees at this level are able to perform intermediate financial analysis work including analyzing financial results, allocations, and fluctuations in periods with limited supervision. Employee has developed an understanding of the basic principles of ratemaking.
This position serves on a team that innovates new programs and strategies to facilitate Duke Energy’s transition to increasingly clean power generation and ensuring reliability. The employee will work on structuring these programs using creativity and analytical capabilities, contributing to projects at the scale of Duke Energy’s multi-state footprint.
The employee will build experience that combines energy industry and rate expertise, financial analysis, and regulatory and stakeholder relations strategy. This position includes the opportunity to participate in the development of programs that matter to important industries in the company’s service area.

ResponsibilitiesRate case / Rider filings & Support
Cost of service, rate and pricing, modeling and financial analysis work
Regulatory filings, compliance activities and shared service rate work
Regulatory strategy analysis, reporting and support
Resolving strategic company or jurisdictional initiatives
Basic/Required QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics or other related degree AND four (4) years minimum required related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Employees at this level are able to perform proficiently at the Rates & Regulatory Strategy Analyst requirements and is demonstrating the ability to perform at the Senior Rates & Regulatory Strategy Analyst requirements.
Working Conditions
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
