Senior Regional MDS Specialist

The Senior Regional MDS Specialist ensures the accuracy, compliance, and quality of the MDS process across multiple nursing homes within our organization. Experience & Education: + Must possess a valid and encumbered RN or LPN license in Massachusetts. + Three (3) to five (5) years experience in an MDS role in a long-term care setting. + Regional or multi-facility MDS experience is a plus. + RAC-CT (Resident Assessment Coordinator - Certified) certification required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe post-hire. Duties & Responsibilities: + Oversee and support the accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments. + Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (OBRA, PPS, and PDPM) across the region. + Develop and implement company policies and procedures to streamline MDS documentation and care planning. + Provide remote and on-site training to facility MDS personnel. + Perform remote review and on-site audits of MDS documentation, care plans, and billing processes. + Act as the primary contact between corporate leadership and facility-level MDS teams. + Educate staff on regulatory changes, best practices, and company expectations for MDS accuracy and compliance. Specific Requirements: + Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. + Must be willing to travel as needed to assigned facilities within the region. + Strong ability to manage multiple facilities, prioritize tasks, and work independently. + Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and MDS software (PCC, MatrixCare, etc.) + Expertise in federal and state regulations related to MDS, RAI processes, and skilled nursing reimbursements (PDPM). + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for remote and in-person collaboration.
