We are looking for a Senior Regional Sales Director – Academia (Western Region) to join our Academia and Government –Segment Sales division. In this role you will be responsible for leading teams of salespeople to deliver assigned objectives for sales, revenue, account retention, growth, and other metrics assigned by senior leadership. You will develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the alignment of supporting teams to deliver shared goals. You will also play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the sales department and contributing to the overall business strategy.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience10+ years industry experience in selling into the higher education, education technology or research marketplace5+ years industry experience as a sales leader in managing and leading sales teams to deliver proven growthIt would be great if you also have . . .
Master’s degree in business administration or other relevant advanced degreesExperience running at least a $75 million dollar territory with hundreds of academic/research accounts in your portfolioExperience selling information services and solutions, strategic consulting, enterprise software or enterprise analytics Documented history of driving revenue growth within accounts/territories managed Knowledge of forecasting, deal cadence and deal management principlesExperience and history of effective team performance management.Strategic relationship development skillsAdvanced negotiations skillsFluency in using Microsoft Office resources (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI) as well as strong knowledge and experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.What will you be doing in this role?
Directly manage a team of about 5 individual contributor direct reports and coordinate all sales activities with our specialist, renewal, and customer success teamsLead, direct, and review the work of the teams to achieve operational or functional targets with significant contribution towards immediate and long-term results for the department and organization.Influence diverse stakeholder groups and drive acceptance of policies, practices, and procedures within a broader area of responsibility.Shape strategic initiatives at the department level and provide significant input on strategic initiatives for the organization.Deliver consistent and timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to encourage success and promote growth through regular developmental conversations and identification of opportunities.Own decision-making for staffing decisions for the teamsAbout the Team
