Location: Houston - 4:1 Hybrid Schedule

Job Summary: 

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Reinsurance Analyst, where you'll play a crucial role in managing and analyzing reinsurance accounting activities. You'll work with financial statements, ledger accounts, and managerial reports, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reinsurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze Loss Triangles for various lines of business.Handle inquiries from reinsurers and brokers, coordinating responses across departments.Compile and post financial data to general ledger accounts, preparing reports on facultative, treaty, and excess of loss coverages.Develop work plans for resolving reinsurance issues with missing data.Review settlements for accuracy and completeness.Assist internal and external auditors with reinsurance matters.Proactively resolve reconciliation items related to reinsurer balances.Update profit commission and sliding scale calculations.Support the commutation process by researching reinsurance transactions.Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.Assist with banking activities, such as letters of credit and collateral management.Create ad hoc reports using advanced Excel skills.Review quarterly “Schedule F” files in detail.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Preferred: Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation or progress towards it.Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).Strong understanding of reinsurance principles and accounting.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to industry changes.
