As Senior Research Analyst, Emerging Asia, you will apply your expertise and experience to deliver high-quality and purposeful economic analysis to portfolio managers across our firm. Reporting to the Head, Global Economy and Strategy, you will lead research efforts that shape our macroeconomic outlook and investment strategies for Emerging Asia countries. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview._ **How you’ll succeed** + **Conduct comprehensive and purposeful outcome-focused research** on key economic, political, and financial developments in Emerging Asian countries. Identify and monitor significant risks to your core conclusions. Apply your research to identify investment opportunities in various asset classes, including currency, fixed income, and equity, and provide rigorous actionable investment recommendations. Actively engage in investment and research meetings to support portfolio decision-making. Your contributions should provide unique insights derived from a thorough analysis of the economic outlook for Emerging Asia countries. + **Communicate findings** effectively and in a timely manner to influence portfolio managers and key stakeholders, showcasing your research and analytical capabilities both internally and externally to our clients. Assist the Head, Global Economy and Strategy, to plan the cyclical and thematic economic and strategy research agenda. Provide support to the firm’s Marketing and Distribution teams, including by participating in client and consultant meetings and by proactively identifying opportunities to contribute through webinars, podcasts, written reports, and other media. You must also be eligible for registration to the various securities commissions across Canada. **Who You Are** + **Certified Professional** : You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, International Finance, or a related field. A CFA designation (or in progress) is considered a valuable asset. + **Seasoned Economist/Analyst** : You possess at least 7 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis, ideally within a financial markets context, and are capable of delivering first-quartile quality research. You learn quickly and possess a thorough understanding of relevant macroeconomic and financial concepts. + **Technologically Proficient** : You are well-versed in, or comfortable learning, quantitative software (E-Views, Python, and Bloomberg). + **Critical Thinker** : You excel at identifying and analyzing relevant details while maintaining a focus on the big picture. Your strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement enhance your decision-making processes. You appreciate the importance of thoughtful, balanced, and rigorous research that appropriately identifies both opportunities and risks.
