Job Responsibilities
-Field Operations Deploy and maintain eddy covariance systems for greenhouse gas monitoring.-Travel throughout Texas and nationally to service field equipment and collect data.-Assist with agronomic trials, including coordinating planting, fertilizer, and treatment applications.-Operate and maintain field equipment, including tractors and plot equipment.-Laboratory Operations Maintain laboratory organization and ensure compliance with safety protocols.-Manage inventory of field and laboratory supplies, ensuring timely procurement and restocking.-Conduct sample preparation and routine analysis, as needed, to support ongoing research.-Collaboration and Training Work effectively with graduate students, farm managers, and technical personnel to achieve project goals.-Assist in training new personnel in field and laboratory procedures, promoting best practices.-Contribute to research design and data interpretation in collaboration with project teams.-Administrative Support Document field and laboratory activities, maintaining accurate records of equipment use and experimental data.-Assist in the preparation of project reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication.-Performs Other Duties as Assigned - Fulfill other tasks to support the overall operations of the Agroecology lab and ensure the success of its projects.
Required Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, environmental science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -Four years of related professional experience. Preferred Education and Experience: -Master's Degree in agronomy, soil science, environmental science, or related field. -Experience in agricultural or ecological research, including field and laboratory operations Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Strong skills in data analysis. -Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
-Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Familiarity with greenhouse gas monitoring techniques and instrumentation. -Experience training and supervising personnel in field and laboratory settings. -Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in agricultural and laboratory environments.
