Role Overview

The Chartis Research Team identifies and creates industry intelligence across the enterprise to develop and inform insights that amplify Chartis’ market impact. The Research Team is a centralized resource deployable on client engagements, pursuits, thought leadership and offering development, and industry intelligence management and curation, providing expert research and market intelligence skills. The team contributes to the improvement of public health, the advancement of healthcare delivery, the reduction in health inequities, and the betterment of rural health.

 

The Senior Research Associate will work directly with other Research Team members as well as The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The Senior Research Associate will also work with our consulting colleagues and clients on a range of healthcare projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and curious thinker who is passionate about healthcare to help develop the research capabilities of our rapidly growing firm.

ResponsibilitiesSupport client billable projects, including the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s statewide network in Ohio. Supporting this project will include aggregation and analysis of rural hospital performance metrics, and data review sessions (remote and onsite) with hospital leadership teams.Contribute to regular team activities and operations including Chartis Daily News and Good Reads (curating the latest industry news), Top Reads (weekly thought leadership on key events in healthcare), weekly and monthly newsletters, and new requests email triage.Support prioritized business development efforts by conducting secondary research on a market, healthcare entity(ies), or topic area.Develop and maintain industry trends materials through collaboration with consulting colleagues.Serve as a liaison between the team and firm to ensure knowledge transfer, wayfinding, and best practices of resources. Coach and mentor research analyst staff as appropriate. Support the analytic and research needs of Chartis’ internal firm teams and practice areas, including contributing to practice development initiatives, whitepaper development, training, and knowledge management initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Desired SkillsUndergraduate degree (BA, BS) requiredHealthcare industry experience required2-3 years’ research experience, ideally at a professional services firm. Advanced internet searching skills.Excellent critical thinking skills – ability to gather research, data and information and synthesize into a cohesive document, typically a PowerPoint presentation.Inclination to take initiative, be creative when looking for hard-to-find information or data and ask questions at the appropriate time.Strong work and time management skills; able to work effectively under tight timelines or adapt to shifting priorities.Ability to work independently when appropriate, while also comfortable working collaboratively in a team setting.Strong communication skills and ability to work and share findings across teams and with consulting colleaguesExperience in healthcare is not required but is preferred; an interest in and curiosity about healthcare is a must.Knowledge of any of the following is not required by preferred: hospital and health system economics and performance metrics, not-for-profit financial statements, the U.S. healthcare payment system, and healthcare policy.Proficient in Microsoft office, with strong skills in PowerPoint and Tableau preferred 

 

Salary range: $85,000-100,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
