+ Experience in a service organization, preferably in higher education or research environment.
+ Experience reviewing data use agreements or other contracts associated with accessing restricted information.
+ Working knowledge of research computing related systems and processes (e.g., storage, cluster computing, network, database, virtualized systems) in on premise and cloud environments.
+ Working knowledge of code optimization.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy in interactions.
+ Experience guiding researchers on best practices for managing data and ensuring data compliance.
+ Experience maintaining a strict standard of confidentiality.
+ Follows through on work to completion and strong attention to detail.
+ Experience with research data management, particularly with regards sponsored research programs.
+ Solid familiarity with data security best practices.
+ Demonstrated team performance and collaboration skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
+ Experience collaborating and effectively communicating with colleagues across job functions and departments.

Position Description:
The Senior Research Computing and Data Management Facilitator is a key member of the Computing team at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), focusing on the research computing needs of the school. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position will collaborate on the ongoing development and communication of the SEAS Research Computing strategic plan and will play a leading role in promoting and aiding the adoption of research computing solutions and promoting research data management with SEAS faculty and research groups.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
+ Acts as a trusted advisor for SEAS research groups on the appropriate application of research computing technologies, both on-premise and in the cloud.
+ Acts as a consultant for SEAS research groups on research computing solution design and architecture.
+ Acts as a trusted advisor on the use of university and external research computing resources to meet faculty and researcher research computing and data storage needs.
+ Supports faculty and researchers in research data management (RDM) initiatives by providing training and resources about data onboarding/offboarding and the data lifecycle from data acquisition and/or creation through the dissemination and preservation, inclusive of curation, management, and analysis.
+ Assists with the creation of research data management plans for research groups, particularly in support of sponsored research projects.
+ Representative and champion for SEAS on relevant university-wide committees and working groups for research computing and research data management.
+ Acts as a hub for SEAS research groups to access information and resources on research computing and research data management from other Harvard groups, for example the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) RC or the Harvard Libraries.
+ Collaborates with FAS Research Computing, Harvard University Libraries, Harvard Information Security, and the wider research computing and data community to share best practices and resources.
+ Develops and delivers resource usage reports to SEAS leadership.
+ Develops and implements research computing-related operational processes and documentation.
+ Develops and supports the research computing community within SEAS.
